Text2Speech

When you buy software it is yours to use.'

In my past buys. The reason I bought paint shop instead of photoshop was because you had to continue to pay for photoshop but actually owned and had endless use of paintshop with no extra cost. Years ago I windows word came on 4 disk you had to stick in

I had the thought any app that needs the internet to work is not owned but rented.

The rent is

plastering ads in front of your nose

or a $ amount to continue to use it,

PUNCH LINE

IF YOU HAVE TO BE ON THE INTERNET

TO USE A PROGRAM. YOU DO NOT OWN IT.

YOU RENT AS LONG AS YOU USE IT.

Years ago windows word came on 4 disk you had to stick in. They continue to add more functions, The first version did all I needed. I never had a clue of what lots of the things did.

You owned it, but when changing systems, it would no longer work, need to buy the next version ..  That is how open office and the like exist. It does everything needed no cost.

I had the thought any app that needs the internet to work is not owned but rented.

Browsers used to be sold at one time when the windows guys came up with the idea we will give our browser away .. and that was the end of selling browers.

Special functions for Willy's app ?
Looking through all the things sound forge has, I know what makes others spend the cash.
For personal use only .. ok

Podcast, videos ... unless they are hard to understand of have lots of noise, who notices ?
As an observer, the only thing that interest me is the content, what is it about, what emotions or information that makes me pop.

Instruction videos

Things I dislike include a thick foreign accent, someone repeating stuff, leaving out info, giving instructions about what ever and sticking in things about some other product. Including lots of stuff about themselves, being 3 minutes in the video before getting to the information of what the video is supposed to be about.

Instruction videos that include transcripts are great if they include the needed info.

Deception in advertising

Searching for key words, free or new, jumping from one link to another.

When you get to the end of the rainbow, the words are LIKE new.

When they say free and you get to their pitch it is free TRIAL,

When you get to the spot to get the FREE trial, you have to enter your  CREDIT CARD NUMBER to get that free trial 😏

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Looking for a specific item in their search box, click and here it is at the top of the screen, scroll down a bit and there is a whole bunch of jumbled products... then at the bottom what is in the box, description and feedback from buyers.

In my world the add would include photos a full discription and maker's instruction manual if it exists...followed by comments .. but I know some are worthless.

One other helpful bit of info is their info about the % of returns.

As for all that stuff about other products in between, guess the thought is maybe they will buy these products they never thought of before... I guess

How to do it right.. maybe later.

No need to figure out a bunch of steps or buy an app to record what ever you hear on your computer. About $5.00, not sure about yours but never hurt mine.

The single end plugged into the speaker, one end to the computer mic and the other to my earphones

PREVIOUS THOUGHTS

SoundForge is not an app you own. It might b on your hard drive to make a limited of audio files but after that  you have to rent it in the cloak of refills

Pay as you go, I could get that any where. This program is NOT a piece of software on your hard drive that generates text into speech

If the app was doing the task it would not need an internet connection  ?

It is kind of like someone selling you a car that is yours forever, but to use you have to buy gas from them

.. This is as far as I can figure it out ?

50,000 $5, 200,000 $10, 600,00 characters $16 This would be about genesis 1:1 to numbers 6:38

Others r doing the same let u play for a bit then charge to continue to use it ... Except they have no $150 charge to "buy it"

[As for speech to text, windows 11 does a great job at that for free <> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrrSAa_L3Mo&t=21s&pp=ygUhd2luZG93cyBzcGVlY2ggdG8gdGV4dCB3aW5kb3dzIDEw ]
